Photo Shoot Portfolio: Kalyenn Griffin

Such a beautiful girl and person. I'm so blessed to have a beautiful friend like Kalyenn. This photo shoot was so much fun! I was able to set up a plain white background which created a beautiful contrast. Check out my FB page below for some more pictures from the shoot. Some pictures were blurry when they uploaded to FB, but they are gorgeous.

Setting Up for Saturday's Photo Shoot

I performed a test run today of setting up my background and taking it down. Here is a picture of my background (not perfect because this was just a test run) with a prop I will use in Saturday's photo shoot. I'm so excited!

I just love using props! I am in the process of making a prop for the same photo shoot. It is looking great! Look for the pictures from the photo shoot on my blog or on Facebook later this weekend. (once I'm able to edit them after the shoot) I can't wait!

Photo of the Week: The Sky is the Limit

New Photo Of the Month... well this one is temporary because of two new things:
1) I have a photo shoot scheduled for this weekend and the picture will probably top a simple picture of the sky.
2) I'm changing photo of the month to Photo of the Week!

Check back with me every week for a new photo!

What to Prepare for & Bring to a Photo Shoot

*Experience with other photographers may vary but this is what I suggest.

1. Let's start with wardrobe.
Unless specific arrangements have been made in advance, the model(s) are responsible for bringing their own attire. For a better picture, talk to the photographer about the props being used so that you can possibly coordinate with the prop. If you are only planning on one outfit change (as an example), still bring another outfit incase of emergency. (spills, grass stains, etc... things happen)
Unless discussed with your photographer prior to the photo shoot, stay away from busy patterns in clothes and stick with the solids. For some pictures, patterns make the photo visually appealing, but first discuss wardrobe suggestions with the photographer.

 2. Props.
Most of the time, I supply the model(s) with props but it is encouraged that the model bring their own props as well. We may not necessarily use every prop, but it is better to have more props than needed than not enough. Talk with me about props if you have any suggestions or questions.

3. Appearance.
To keep each photo looking fresh and new, I suggest the female model(s) bring a few essential items.
-bobby pins
-hair ties
-makeup
-hairspray
-brush
-jewelry (not too flashy)
-glasses
-etc.

4. How to Bring All of this Stuff?!
Depending on how many outfit changes are planned for the photo shoot, I suggest the model(s) bring a small suitcase or a bag to carry clothes, props, and makeup. Please pack carefully and try to pack in a way to avoid wrinkles and lint.

I hope this helps! If you have any questions or comments, please email me at mollymillsphotography@gmail.com. I'm happy to answer any of your questions. Thank you!

Back In Business

I've been so busy with school work and after school activities lately that my photography hasn't been my top priority. Now that my schedule isn't completely packed, I have more time for photo shoots. I've missed bonding with my camera! If anyone is interested in booking, please contact me at mollymillsphotography@gmail.com. I've done a lot of research lately concerning poses and really neat ideas for individual and group shots. I'm open to your questions. Thank you!

Alphabet Photography

Alphabet Photography has inspired me to take my photography to a whole new level. I saw a woman putting a picture frame together of what looked like different letters at her booth at the Winter Haven Arts In the Park late last year. These photographs were taken of everyday objects: benches, architecture, and many other things that resembled a particular letter of the alphabet. These images were then put together to spell a word or a name. I thought this was a simple but neat idea! Below is a video that explains where Alphabet Photography began.
